Gayle Ratliff

Dr. Gayle Ratliff joined the instructional faculty in fall of 2019. She holds degrees from the Florida State University (B.S., Physics), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.M., Engineering Systems) and the Illinois Institute of Technology (Ph.D., Physics). Prior to joining Northwestern, she was an adjunct professor of physics at the Illinois Institute of Technology as well as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Adler Planetarium where she conducted research in high energy astrophysics with the VERITAS Collaboration.  A classically trained dancer, Dr. Ratliff also works on a range of dance as well as art and science initiatives.
