P&A Students Receive NSF GRFP Fellowship

Congratulations to the following Physics and Astronomy students who were recently awarded a NSF GRFP Grant!
- Will Engedal- undergraduate senior pursuing a PhD at the University of Washington. Will worked with Professor Istvan Kovacs investigating problems in statistical mechanics and biophysics.
- Miguel Ceja- PhD student working with Selim Shahriar on precision measurement.
- Nathalie Korhonen Cuestas- PhD student working with Allison Strom studying the evolution of galaxies through the lens of their chemical compositions.
- Dean Kousiounelos- Incoming PhD student focusing on binary stellar evolution using simulations.
The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to help ensure the quality, vitality, and strength of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The five-year Fellowship provides three years of financial support, including an annual stipend of $37,000.
