Byron Watkins

Byron Watkins attended Western Kentucky University where he majored in physics and electrical engineering and minored in mathematics. He attended Purdue University and obtained a M.S. in Solid State Physics. He attended the University of Kentucky where his research on superconducting and ferromagnetic thin films earned him a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics. He has worked at the classified research facility in Miamisburg, OH, as an electrical engineer at Fruit of the Loom, Inc., at various construction sites, as auto mechanic, and as instructor and assistant instructor at four prestigious universities and two trade schools. The new millinium brought him to Northwestern University. He designs, constructs, and repairs laboratory apparatus for the advanced physics laboratories. He teaches the advanced laboratories and some of the introductory laboratories
