Lena is an astrophysicist working on the interface of theory and observations. Her primary focus is black hole astrophysics, with a particular interest in the Milky Way’s galactic center black hole Sagittarius A* and its accretion. Her research combines observational studies, data analysis algorithm development, numerical simulations, and pen-and-paper theoretical calculations.

Previously she has also worked on exoplanets, neutrino physics, and particle theory.
