DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS AND ASTRONOMY

The Department of Physics & Astronomy is excited to welcome a new faculty member this fall, Archana Kamal.

Professor Kamal joins Northwestern from UMass-Lowell where she is an Associate Professor of Quantum Physics and Quantum Information.  She received her PhD in Physics at Yale University. Her thesis title: Nonreciprocity in active Josephson junction circuits.  

Archana received the Teaching Excellence Award at UMass-Lowell in 2020. In 2021, she was awarded the AFOSR Young Investigator Award as well as a NSF Career Award.
