Bill Halperin Receives APS Five Sigma Physicist Award

Congratulations to Bill Halperin who has been chosen to receive the APS Five Sigma Physicist Award.This award was first given out in 2014 and is aimed at recognizing outstanding volunteer advocacy work to help advance APS’s science policy priorities.
Every year, APS honors a select group of members with the 5 Sigma Physicist Award for outstanding advocacy that is crucial to maintaining the strength of the scientific enterprise. Recipients must demonstrate substantial and impactful advocacy actions with APS Government Affairs (GA) throughout the year.
Looking at the list, this is a first for our Department of Physics and Astronomy, and Northwestern.
