Jim Sauls Honors Physics Pioneers
July 26, 2022
Jim Sauls, co-director of the Center for Applied Physics and Super-conducting Technologies (CAPST), a partnership with Fermilab, has published a five-decade retro-spective on early extensions of the microscopic theory of super-conductivity and superfluidity. The work explains key aspects of physics discovered over that time--including findings made at NU by fellow Physics Professors, William Halperin and John Ketterson, "pioneers in low-temperature physics," says Sauls, who will deliver a plenary talk on the "Physics of Superfluid Helium 3" during an upcoming global conference.
