P&A Hosts 2021 Fall Welcome

October 13, 2021

On Monday, October 11, Physics and Astronomy students and faculty gathered for a welcome back celebration.

The event featured the announcement of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics, including a presentation by P&A faculty member Professor Michelle Driscoll who spoke about complex systems, the research area of this year’s Nobel Prize recipients.

Students and faculty enjoyed fun physics demos from Professor Art Schmidt and liquid nitrogen ice cream made by Professor Driscoll and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Professor Nate Stern.

All in attendance were glad to see the return of more in-person events and look forward to many more to come. Welcome back, everyone!
